Worth Knowing
The tooth geometry and the tooth pitch are responsible for the chipping and progress of cutting. 2-3 teeth need to work constantly in the material, the used tooth pitch also follows this rule of thumb. It is recommended to use saw blades with a small tooth pitch for thin material and a rough tooth pitch for thick material.
In order to increase the lifetime of a saw blade, a cooling liquid is recommended:
- cutting oil (steel, metal)
- petroleum (aluminium)
- water (plastics, fiberglass)
